昨日頼んだバッテリが届いた

早速箱を開けると、おや、見慣れないものが

電解液が別になってる？これをスポッとバッテリ本体に入れれば完了かと思ったが、取説を見るとそう簡単でもなさそう。
マニュアルの（あまり参考にならない）絵を見ながら、適当に英文を読みつつ作業を開始。

HOW TO ADD THE ELECTROLYTE
1. Preparing the battery
Let the battery stand on a level surface. Remove the sealing sheet.

2.Preparing the electrolyte
Take the electrolyte container out of the vinyl bag. Detach the strip of caps -- used as the battery plugs later -- from the container.

やっぱ黒いの(strip of caps/細長い蓋)は外すみたいだ。

中は銀紙で蓋をされていた。これならさっきの形で穴が開きそうだ。

3.Procedure for filling battery with acid
Place the electrolyte container upside down with the six sealed areas in line with the six filter ports of the battery. Push the container down strongly enough to break seals. Air bubbles will come up from one or more of the right-hand three filler ports as well as one or more of the left-hand ones.
Note: Do not tilt the container as the electrolyte flow may be interrupted and stop flowing.

多少力を加えたらすぐに刺さった。
この状態でしばし放置

4.Checking the electrolyte flow
Make sure air bubbles are coming up, as stated in step 3 above. Leave the container in this state for 20 minutes or longer.
Note: If no air bubbles are coming up from any of the right-hand or left-hand three filler ports, tap the bottom of the container two or three times. Never remove the container from battery.

5.Pulling out the container
Be certain that all the electrolyte has flowed out. Tap the bottom in the same way as diag.4 if there is any electrolyte left in the container. Now pull the container gently out of the battery.

最初に電解液の入れ物を蓋していた黒いやつをバッテリ本体の蓋に。結構グイグイと押し込まないと入らない。

6.Sealing the battery
Fit the strip of caps tightly into the filler ports. Make sure the strip at the same level as the top of the battery.
The fill-up procedure is now complete. Never remove the strip of caps, nor add any water or electrolyte.

付いてきたネジを使って端子をネジ止めし、完了。
電解液が別になってるんだから、まず充電しなきゃだめだろうと思っていたのだが、試しにセルを回してみるとすぐに掛かった。
そういうものなのか。

このブログに英語のマニュアルを書きながら、あ、全然手順通りじゃねぇじゃん、って。
注入を開始したら20分以上放置。そんで、二～三度上からたたく。で、電解液が残ってないことを確認して徐々に引き抜く。だそうだ。
見た目で残ってないからって３～４分ですぐ引き抜いちゃったよ。まぁ今更仕方がないが。
